anaylsis moving image

Colour: this commercial is not in black and white, it’s in normal colour. The producer has added an effect to the colours to make them look a bit old and a bit dull. He has done this because at the beginning when the commercial starts the voice over says “years ago”. This is the reason the producer of the commercial has done this to make it look old or dull.

Pose: the camera is not still it keeps moving everywhere to show both of the brothers. They are not still, they are everywhere on the commercial.

Type of shot: the producer of the commercial has used verities of shots. (for example) at the beginning of the commercial when it shows both of the brothers fighting it’s a mid shot because the producer wants the audience to see the two brothers fighting over a chocolate very clearly that’s why it’s an mid shot. All of these shots have been used in this Twix commercial: close up, mid shot, zoom in, and zoom out, long shot, high angle shot and many more.

Setting: the setting at the beginning is at a old, roman place then later it’s an big ground. Then there are shots taking in the factory.

Lighting: the lighting is balanced out, it’s not too darks it’s not too bright. If it was too dark the commercial won’t look nice and if it was too bright it would just look like that they have no understanding of what they have done.

Colour: The colours used on this Reebok advert are black and grey, which suggests are serious and negative mood.

Framing: the picture is on one side and the text is on one side. The main slogan which is “I am what I am” on 50 cents picture it’s got the part saying “I am” and on the other side where the finger prints are it says “what I am” this shows all the negative sides.

Composition: The picture of 50 cent is on the left hand side and on the right is an image of finger prints which represents that scary feeling and things about jail.

Size: the size of the slogan is big to get the message clear to the audience. The font is in old roman font to contrast with the colours used on the poster. The size of the other text is in small and normal English.

Type of shot: the picture of 50 cent is a mid shot which allows the audience to see his body till his shoulders. Mid-shot suggests the serious mood of 50 cent. This is a good way to catch the audiences' eyes because if there in a hurry and only see the advert for 10 seconds they get the message straight away.

Subject matter: The subject of the finger prints with what 50 cent says on the top shows how he began having a dangerous life but now has changed it for the better. The main subject is to advertise the Reebok ad

Setting: The picture of 50 cent has a plain black background which is good because all the focus is on him and the audience doesn't get distracted with the background. The image of the finger prints has no background in the sense that the main image is the finger prints.

Lighting: The colour is used on the poster are black and grey. Where 50 cents picture is, the background of it is black. The background of the finger prints is grey to connote what the finger prints might be there for.

Pose: They used a mid-shot to show all his expressions and his anger through his face, without him speaking.

  1. The producer of this poster has used verities of techniques to make this poster look amazing. They have used dark colours to connote to us, how the film will be. The colours create a scary feeling in our minds, which tells us that something spooky is going to happen. The reason the picture is taken at night is to create that scary feeling. It could also connote death or a no escape feeling. The light at the bottom of the picture or the glow if you want to call it is at the bottom connotes something to do with syfy. The genre of the film is romance, a bit of syfy and action.

The mast head is at the bottom because the film is very well known. As soon as the target audience see the picture they will straight away get that message that it is spider man because of his costume. Instead of putting the mast head at the top of the poster they have put the actors and actresses names. The editor has done that because they know that the audience will straight away look at the top to find out the title.  So he made the actors and actresses names as the tag line which he knows will create a big difference, because after the audience look at the names they will thing that this film is going to be a super hit because it has Hollywood’s red hot stars in the film. This will make them go watch it and tell others about it that go and watch the film because it’s a super hit.

The central image is of spider man hanging off a building which connotes or shows us his powers. The picture tells us and shows us all his powers and special features spider man has. The use of 'New York City' being at the bottom of spider man portrays that he must probably have so much power that he owns the city as being on top of it shows the ultimate power he has in his hands. It’s also a mid-shot of Andrew Garfieldis to show all his powers and his strength.  When the audience first see this the denotation will be that its spider man hanging off a building of New York City. The connotation will be that he has special powers, who could do that? He’s amazing which will prove the mast head of the film.

The target audience of this film is 12 because any one under this age will not understand the movie. I think the most suitable age for this film could be 11 till say about 35 I don’t think anyone above or under would want to watch this. Anyone under this age won’t understand it and anyone above won’t be interested init.

At the beginning Andrew Garfieldis represented as a geek then later on in the film he turns from being a geek to a super hero, a lover, and a strong man who could actually use his intelligence and think for himself. His face in the poster looks very scary, he’s not looking directly at the camera because then it won't look scary. His hands are facing out to connote how strong he is, also to show how much power he has.

The production is in Hollywood and non-Hollywood. To promote the film they made posters, trailers, and loads of other things so that they could get their message across.
